Bird Watching and Wabune
I went to do some birdwatching in 横十間川公園 (Yoko-Jukkengawa Kōen). Before seeing a single bird, this group of volunteers with Japanese-style rafts (和船, wabune) pressed me to get on and told me I could even try my hand at manoeuvring the boat myself. They didn't have to ask twice, and after putting on the lifejacket, I embarked on どりーん (dorīn).
Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures of me holding the rudder, so you'll have to believe me when I say it was a lot of fun and not as easy as it first seemed.
After thanking the staff for this experience, I ate my lunch and went back on my initial quest.
